Playing across realms is difficult as I can attest - I just got one of my Blood Elf Death Knights to 76 after a year. In the meantime, I had leveled 3 other characters to 80 in the guild. Having support from a main supplying Heirlooms and Gold just makes a huge difference. Which is why I sent one of the aforementioned characters crossrealm with a supply of those very things. It isn't an inexpensive option, however, so I am not about to recommend someone do it lightly.

For whatever reason, our Horde side guild just hasn't taken off. I actually have a couple of horde alts but haven't even tried to add them to the guild as there has been so little activity.

I think all of us have limited playtime, Melvyl, so leveling on both factions is difficult. On my home server, I try to play Horde one night a week and that doesn't always happen either.

I did transfer in a tauren druid (Tamanare) to do the Wheathoof quest but you don't need to guild her unless you're so inclined. I moved her (as opposed to one of my countless other orphan-alt toons, Horde and Alliance alike) because she's actually a toon I'd like to see get some time now and again. Having a guild's support is always welcome, of course, but I do realize she'd spend most of her time alone.

Rosz, reading this thread I realized I didn't actually answer your question on text for your Extra Life page. Of COURSE you can use any existing text from my page or from the team page! I did find it cramping to be limited to 1000 characters (they don't tell you until they chop off the end) but that's the only constraint I see.

Reposted from my Lj

Well, I knew that I wouldn't manage 24 hours in 24 hours. But starting early and going as much as I could today, I have played 17 hours of WoW. *laugh* They allow a "make-up" day so next Saturday I will finish off my last 8 hours.

Roszmairta (Rowan Fairgrove) & Recalled (Liz Danforth) of Libraries & Librarians of Aerie Peak participated in a marathon WoW session today, assisted by our amazing guildies, Melvyl (Michael Pate) and Questionr (Chris Harris).

Recalled wanted to do quests with children in them as we were raising money to fight children's cancers. So we worked on the Pamela series in the Plaguelands. Thansk to Melvyl & Q, we ran Ramps, Blood Furnace, Scholomance & Stratholme! Mair started just level 61 and is almost 63!

The picture is Roszmairta in her new healing gear, including the Tunic of the Crescent Moon provided by Baron Rivendare. She replaced at least half of both her feral and resto gear with instances and quest rewards! And this is the first chance she's had to really attempt to heal with her new resto spec outside of battlegrounds. With the experience & the new gear, I'm excited to try more healing. And I got great bear gear too, so tanking here I come.

It was a great experience to do the marathon! W00t! Librarians rock!

You folks utterly rock. Thank you SO MUCH for playing host to me and mine, yesterday, on Aerie Peak. Thank you for runs in Hellfire dungeons, in Scholomance, in Stratholme, and working for Tirion Fordring. I played 19.5 hours -- 4:30-midnight -- which is more time than I usually get to play in an entire week!

I know Rosz plans to play makeup time next Saturday -- the charity continues to accept funds through Oct 31st -- and if I can come over in the evening I will. Unfortunately I am scheduled to work at my branch all day that day, so my time is limited. I will see if I can't induce a few of my Kilrogg guildies to come over and hang out with me again. Before all was said and done, five of them rolled new toons on Aerie Peak and one (Coralle) joined the guild. (One said he was only there for moral support and didn't expect to come back; one of them I didn't think would fit the guild; two of them rarely have time to play even on Kilrogg.)

I plan to pop on today -- turn in some quests on Recalled and clear her bags! -- and screenshot the /played time for her and Zeno, as verification that I did so for any Doubting Thomases (unlikely as I think that will be).

In short: thank you. You made a memorable day for me in countless ways. And I will definitely try harder to come visit. As I said to Mel, though, I now work the evening shift on Mondays so I don't get home until late. Thanks so very, very much.

We've made the $500 goal and more. There are at least two people who've promised money (one on the Extra Life website, one on Twitter) based on the number of hours I actually play.... so it could be even more coming in for the charity. Woot!

It's $384 now! And yes, you do show up on the team but your financial contribution came under my name instead of your own. (Perhaps you can only donate to individuals, not to "the team" in general?) Damnation, I'm not in a financial position to return the favor... grr.

I'm planning to make a point to go to child-related places and quests, notably little Pamela Redpath (for the Battle of Darrowshire), will help Alicia in SW to deliver her poem in Shattrath, and on Hordeside, go feed Ahab Wheathoof's dog Kyle. I'm going to have to transfer over one of my unplayed Hordies from another server to do the latter, but I think Michael once said there is a co-guild on the dark side?
